Partners sought to develop housing on section of Tesco site in Kilkenny City

Retail giants Tesco are currently inviting residential developers to submit expressions of interest to partner with them to provide a residential element to their site at the old mart in Kilkenny City.

Tesco have appointed Cushman & Wakefield and FitzGerald Auctioneers to handle this process.

It is expected to include the sale of almost 3.5 acres of the site subject to planning permission, with the remainder (just over five acres) set to be developed as retail use by the supermarket giant.

The site benefits from ample profile onto both the Castlecomer Road and New Road and has the benefit of an abundance of local amenities situated within close proximity.

The property is zoned 'General Business' under the Kilkenny City and County Development plan and is also subject to a Masterplan being submitted along with the adjoining site (to be retained by the vendor).

It has been identified that a significant proportion of this landmark site can be utilised for a residential development under the current development plan.

Interested parties are being invited to submit expressions of interest to acquire this prime development site and assist the vendor with a Masterplan and planning application for the overall property (including the adjoining land to be retained by the vendor).

The submission deadline is November 1, with further information available from the joint agents.
