Langton's in Kilkenny
Kilkenny Comhairle na nÓg, the Local Youth Council, has announced its Annual Youth Conference is to be held on Tuesday, October 24 at Langton's Hotel from 10am to 3pm.
Comhairle na nÓg operates across 31 local authorities in Ireland and plays a pivotal role in giving children and young people a voice in the development of local and national services and policies, in alignment with Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Annual Youth Conference serves as a cornerstone event for Comhairle na nÓg, inviting young people from local schools and youth groups to actively participate.
Over 100 young people are expected to attend from secondary schools in the city and county, allowing students a dynamic platform for their voices to be heard.
The primary objective of this event is to empower Kilkenny's youth by providing them with the opportunity to express their opinions on issues of personal importance. All attendees will have the chance to contribute to discussions on youth matters, ensuring that their voices are taken into consideration.
The event is sponsored by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) and Kilkenny County Council managed by Foróige Kilkenny.
