Fianna Fail councillor, Andrew McGuinness, has described the lack of a suitable rank for taxi drivers during the recent Savour Kilkenny festival as 'not fair'.
Cllr McGuinness claimed there was nowhere for drivers to park despite a temporary rank being erected on Patrick Street. The local Fianna Fail representative said a similar situation 'needs to be prevented' in the future, adding taxi drivers are key to the success of festivals in Kilkenny.
Cllr Eugene McGuinness, who holds a taxi license, said calls 'flooded' into him on the matter and believes discussions need to take place to come up with solutions in order not to lose the valuable service.
