An Garda Síochana in Kilkenny have warned local drivers to make sure their vehicles are road worthy and to be mindful of pedestrians and other road users after highlighting two road breaches in Kilkenny City Centre.
Commenting on social media, a spokesperson for Kilkenny Gardaí said: "One of our lads came across this red Toyota parked in a wheelchair space on High Street earlier. 'He'll be back in 5' his son said who'd been told to sit in the driver's seat but was unable to move the vehicle as he was not insured. 150 Euro fine issued."

"Within minutes another driver passed in his BMW, on the phone and when stopped had tyres as slick as Max Verstappen's. 'I'm on my way for tyres' was the excuse. Tyres though are a bit like birthdays, they aren't full of tread one day and gone the next so again FCPNS issued with fines and Penalty Points," the spokesperson added.
