A much-loved takeaway in Kilkenny has confirmed that it will close its doors for the final time tomorrow (Monday, June 3) after more than half a century in business.
The Cafe Roma, based on John Street in Kilkenny City, informed customers of the news with a written statement on the front of their premises.

"It is with great sadness that the Cafe Roma closes its doors on Monday, June 3 after 57 years of business," their statement read.
"We would like to thank all our customers, staff and suppliers for their support throughout the years."
"Our heartfelt thanks, Daniela and Domenico," the statement concluded.
