Local Green Party councillor Maria Dollard has queried whether an accessible parking bay could be provided at the entrance to the Linear Park.
People with disabilities living in the local community raised the matter with Cllr Dollard who brought it to Kilkenny County Council’s attention at the most recent sitting of the Kilkenny Municipal District.

"The new accessible entrance is excellent but I have been asked by people with disabilities and their carers if an accessible parking bay could be provided at the entrance to the Linear Park," Cllr Dollard said.

"I think it’s possible to take a small part of the park to provide one blue badge space. That way people with disabilities who want to avail of the Linear Park amenity but need to get there car, could park at it," she added.
"Blue badge parking enables access to the community and I’d like to see this provided in a way that doesn’t impact negatively on residents."
