Kilkenny Traveller Community pay tribute to 'lovable character' ahead of funeral mass

Tributes continue to be paid to a teenage boy who died after a crash between an e-scooter and a car in Kilkenny on Saturday evening. 

Joe Carthy (14), tragically passed away on Sunday morning following the accident on the Tullaroan Road in Bonnettstown shortly before 6.30pm on Saturday. 

Joe's funeral mass will take place today (Thursday) at 12noon in St Patrick's Church with burial afterwards to St Kieran's Cemetery.

The local community have been united in grief following the incident with local TD Malcolm Noonan just one many people to express their condolences.

"Deepest condolences to Joe's family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilís," he said.

Earlier this this morning (Thursday), the Kilkenny Traveller Community Movement paid an emotional tribute to the 'loveable character' via social media.
