Kilkenny Defence Forces attempt to save endangered species

The Kilkenny unit have teamed up with BirdWatch Ireland

Kilkenny Defence Forces begin long-term rescue mission

The Defence Forces, based at James Stephens Barracks in Kilkenny are doing their bit to try and save endangered Swift bird, by erecting 36 Swift nest cavities at the army barracks.

The environmental initiative has seen the local barracks team up with BirdWatch Ireland.
