The Kilkenny Castle & Parkland will remain closed today (Tuesday) following an inspection of the grounds.
The castle grounds were due to reopen today with restricted opening hours to ensure the safety of staff and visitors but after this morning's inspection, it was deemed unsafe to do so.

"This is to ensure the safety of our staff and visitors," a spokesperson said.
The situation will be re-assessed regularly and updates will be released in due course. Visitors with online tickets can request a refund by emailing kilkennycastleinfo@opw.ie .
