Kilkenny soldiers lend a hand to the community during difficult weather conditions

Much of County Kilkenny faced a difficult week

Soldiers in Kilkenny respond to emergency situation

The 3rd Infanty Batallion from James Stephens Barracks were deployed across the city and county on Tuesday to assist Kilkenny County Council in clearing pedestrian paths and to bring essential workers along with carers from the 'Brothers of Charity to and from work.

County Kilkenny is currently under a Status Orange low temperature warning tonight (Tuesday).

"We would like to thank all personnel from the Batallion who have worked tirelessly over the last number of days and who will continue to operate in our AO over the next few days," a spokesperson for the Barracks said.
