Both incidents were reported on Monday

Kilkenny Fire Service respond to two calls in two busy areas

No injuries have been reported after two separate fires in Kilkenny City on Monday.

The first fire occurred shortly after 9am at an apartment block in Wellington Square. A small blaze broke out in one of the apartments. It’s understood a number of apartments in the block were evacuated for a time while emergency services dealt with the fire.

Meanwhile, Kilkenny Fire Brigade and gardaí also attended a second, more minor blaze, at a domestic residence in the city in St Thomas' Square.
