Kilkenny gardaí have reprimanded a number of drivers who were spotted holding a mobile phone and texting/talking while driving.
The drivers in questions were handed fixed charge notices as a result.
"From a distance traffic looked to be flowing well this morning but amongst the majority of motorists being cognisant of other road users there were some who decided that holding a mobile phone and texting/ talking was worth the risk," local gardaí posted to social media.

"It wasn't, as the reward was four fixed charge notices issued by our Community Engagement Unit will testify to.
"Please also note that these detections were when small children were coming to and from school and were carried out close to schools," they added.
