Mayor of Kilkenny, Cllr Andrew McGuinness, has called upon the local authority to consider introducing 'residents only' parking for a small group of houses at John's Quay in Kilkenny City.
He informed those present in the council chamber at Monday's plenary meeting that an issue has been brought to his attention recently, whereby residents in the area are struggling to get parking outside of their own homes.
"It has also come to my understanding that campervans are being directed by Google Maps to park down there," McGuinness contended.

"Perhaps it's also worth thinking about more suitable provisions for these types of vehicles. It should at least be considered."
Cllr McGuinness' comments were noted by the management team of Kilkenny County Council, who will review the situation.
