Local legend, Tony Scanlon celebrated a milestone birthday this weekend, with the well-known Village man turning 60.
Friends and family gathered at the James Stephens clubhouse for a night of celebrations, nostalgia and laughs with the hugely popular painter and decorator.

Scanlon has been a committed volunteer and coach with The Village and Freebooters over many years, with his son Ryan and son-in law Donagh notable players for the highly-esteemed GAA club.
The Scanlon family have 'soldiered' with the local hurling club for many years with other relations Luke, Zac and more continuing to ply their trade on the hurling fields.
On the football fields, Scanlon achieved a lot with Freebooters, most notably managing the club to Leinster Junior Cup success after two thrilling games against WFTA (West Finglas Tenants’ Association) in Newbridge in 1999.
