The Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit of An Garda Síochana pulled over a driver under the influence of drugs on Sunday evening.
Posting to social media, a garda spokesperson said: "Kilkenny RPU were out this evening when the driver of a black Audi undertook them leaving the Old Dublin Road Roundabout. This demanded a traffic stop with the outcome of a likely FCPN being issued.

"The members however proceeded down a different line when they encountered the suspected under the influence driver who subsequently failed a Drug Wipe," they said, adding, a bag of the drug was located in the vehicle.
"The driver was arrested and we await results of analysis of the sample and indeed the suspected drugs seized.
"Proceedings to follow," the post concluded.
