The Ashfield & Ashfield East Estate Residents Association have issued a warning those living in the area to lock up their homes and vehicles after an incident of 'opportunistic theft' where two thieves are pictured opening doors of unlocked cars.
The car owner has reported the incident to Kilkenny gardaí and has asked any members of the public who has other recordings or saw any suspicious to report it
"Please, please, always lock your vehicles at night," a spokesperson for the association said.
"Some of you woke up this morning to having items stolen from your vehicles - it's both shocking and an unfortunate reality of opportunistic theft as the evenings get darker.

"We've received helpful footage from a number of you showing the two people prowling the estate, opening doors of unlocked cars," they continued.
"As always, please contact the gardaí for crime related issues, and hopefully the photos below might help somewhat," the spokesperson concluded.
Garda enquiries are continuing.
