There were distressing scenes on the outskirts of Kilkenny City this morning (Friday) following the discovery of a number of dead horses on the Ring Road, between McDonalds and the M9 motorway.
Kilkenny Live understands the route has now been cleared with gardaí and members of the local fire brigade on the scene from early morning.

Meanwhile, emergency services are at the scene of a single car collision between the M9 and N77 Ring Road (near Kilkenny).
Delays can be expected and drivers approaching the area are advised to travel with caution.
