Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel
Privately owned real estate investor and operator Lanthorn have formally announced their landmark acquistion of the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.
Described as 'a 118-bed, four-star hotel with car spaces in the heart of Kilkenny City', Lanthorn state that the hotel 'has been purchased on behalf of the TMR Hotel Collection, owned by Thomas Röggla, and becomes the 17th hotel within the group'.
The statement continues, "TMR Hotel Collection, one of Ireland’s largest privately owned hotel portfolios, has been assembled and managed by Lanthorn since 2014 under the direction of Eimear Fox, Director.

"Kilkenny has long been a target for the Collection. The Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel gives us a strategic city-centre presence in a historic setting with Kilkenny Castle as its backdrop.
"This acquisition marks another step in the Collection’s growth and brings the portfolio to more than 2,100 rooms.

Back in April, following enquiries from the Kilkenny People, the hotel confirmed that a process was underway regarding the potential sale of the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel.
