LATEST: Further details on new Kilkenny Park and Stride facility revealed

Kilkenny County Council has confirmed a lease has been agreed with Kilkenny GAA for the use of UPMC Nowlan Park as a Park and Stride facility.

The service allows people to park their vehicles at a designated location away from their destination and walk the remaining distance.

Seven spaces will be available to users to park their vehicles on the site. However, it remains unclear what impact there will be on the service on matchdays at the venue.

The allocated spots allow cars to be parked in the parking facilities in the grounds, allowing people to make the short walk into the city centre with e-bikes also said to be being considered.

The project will commence in the first quarter of 2026.
