An Garda Síochana made an unusual arrest outside their Kilkenny station on Tuesday, with the story bemusing many local social media users.
The driver visited the station to enquire why he was disqualified from driving on the road. They were subsequently informed they had been disqualified since November of last year.
"He left the station, no doubt anxious, and hopped into his little Renault, forgetting that even small cars need a licenced driver," a garda spokesperson posted online.

"He was immediately stopped and arrested and charged.
"Moral of the story. You must obey the Judge's order and if in doubt, don't drive," they concluded.
Social media users were quick to share their bemusement.
"If he had two brains he'd be twice as thick," one person wrote.
Another added, "There are times when you wonder if some people have anything between their two ears."
