Last weekend, gardaí from Unit C Kilkenny seized an injured foal under the 2013 Animal Health and Welfare Act.
Gardaí said the foal was being checked for a chip but 'will NOT be returned if an owner is identified'.

"Thankfully we are being assisted by an animal welfare charity who will ensure a good forever home," gardaí added.
"Hopefully [the foal] has a happier life ahead of it than behind it. If identified, the owner will have a case to answer."
