Friary Street, Kilkenny
Planning permission is being sought for a new apartment block on Friary Street in Kilkenny City.
The plans lodged by applicant Martin Murphy would involve the demolition of No 19 Friary Street, and the provision of temporary structural works, as well as the reconstruction of the front facade to Friary Street.
The project would see the construction of a new residential apartment development consisting of 16 two-bedroom apartments, associated stair cores, communal refuse and storage areas, bicycle parking provision, internal hard and soft landscaped courtyard plus all associated site works.
No 19 Friary Street is located within the St Mary's Architectural Conservation Area. A decision by Kilkenny County Council is expected by the end of April.
