COMMUTING to London has never been easier with a new route launched between Waterford and London Southend Airport, reducing travel times for people living in Southeast and working in London.
Two daily return flights, morning and evening, operating direct between Waterford and London Southend Airport were launched last week appealing to both business and leisure passengers.
“We have a lot of customers living in Kilkenny. For many people living in the south of the county the airport is only twenty minutes away and it is just over half an hour from Kilkenny city making it the most accessible and easier airport to get to. This route is popular both with people who have business to attend to and to people who just want to travel over to shop and socialise,” CEO, Paul Schütz said.
“Southend as an airport has a lot to offer and we want to develop this route as much as we can. You can get into London city centre within an hour of landing with none of the time consuming hassle that is unavoidable when travelling through London’s major airports. In addition to fast and convenient transfer times to central London, passengers will not experience the long take off queues or the delay and hold patterns commonplace on approach to London’s major airports,” he added.
From March Aer Arann will fly twice a day into London Southend Airport offering excellent access to central London and unrivalled convenience for business and leisure passengers.
The new services, which started on March 27, will be the first to be operated into London Southend Airport by an Irish commercial airline and will operate in addition to Aer Arann’s Waterford to London-Luton services under a revised schedule. Aer Arann flights between Waterford and London Luton will continue four days each week with lunchtime departures on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
