Four newborns begin the New Year in Kilkenny

There were four new babies born in Kilkenny’s St Luke’s General Hospital on New Year’s Day – three boys and a girl.

There were four new babies born in Kilkenny’s St Luke’s General Hospital on New Year’s Day – three boys and a girl.

Pictured with his parents is little Darragh Staunton, who was born at 5pm on January 1, 2013. He weighed just over 8lb.

His parents are Kevin and Lindsay – who is originally from close to Durban in South Africa. The couple already have one son, Adam, who is three years old.

The first birth in St Luke’s this New Year’s Day was at 10.27am. Majella Fogarty from Thurles had a baby boy called Cillian, at a weight of around 7lb.

Emma Looney, from Carlow, had a daughter, Leah, at 11.35am. Susanne Mealy, from Castlecomer, had a boy called Noah at 11.02pm.
