City schools congratulate Leaving Cert students

Schools in Kilkenny are still celebrating the excellent Leaving Cert results received by their students, many of whom have now been accepted into the college course of their choice.

Schools in Kilkenny are still celebrating the excellent Leaving Cert results received by their students, many of whom have now been accepted into the college course of their choice.

Students from Coláiste Pobail Osraí obtained excellent results this year. Liam Ó Foghlú who received 610 points was delighted with his result and was looking forward to studying Philosophy Political Science Economics and Sociology in Trinity College. Another student, who received her desired college place, was overjoyed to be heading to UCD.

Cathnia Ó Muircheartaigh, principal of Coláiste Pobail Osraí wished all students the best in college and their chosen careers.

“We are delighted with the results and with their achievements,” he said.

“We will be sorry to see them go but we wish them success in their future career paths.”

Loreto Secondary School principal Colm Keher also congratulated the class of 2012.

“We had 113 students getting their results here, and we are delighted,” he said.

“Two students crossed the 600 points threshold. Also, 19 students were in the Leaving Cert applied programme and they did exceptionally well.

“We had a hard working, motivated bunch, and they were rewarded for their efforts.”
