Post mortem on man’s body found in Kilkenny city

A POST mortem examination is being carried out this evening on a Kilkenny man found dead in his home last night (Tuesday). The single man in his mid-40s was discovered at his little house on the city’s Waterford Road, across from the former St Joseph’s orphanage at around 10pm when the emergency services were alerted. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

The single man in his mid-40s was discovered at his little house on the city’s Waterford Road, across from the former St Joseph’s orphanage at around 10pm when the emergency services were alerted. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

The scene was preserved by gardai last night and a detailed examination was carried out. A deputy state pathologist carried out a preliminary examination at the scene this morning and the results of this evening’s autopsy at Waterford Regional Hospital will determine the course of the Garda investigation. The man was a very popular figure in the area and was originally from the Butts area of the city.
