Two new features of A Very Kilkenny Christmas have been launched – the Christmas Treasure Trail and 12 Flavours of Christmas Food Trail.
Food lovers can indulge in an array of festive food offerings with the A Very Kilkenny Christmas 12 Flavours of Christmas food trail. Twelve of Kilkenny’s speciality food shops, cafes and bistros will offer a particular festive bite at a special rate which started on Sunday and runs until Christmas Eve.
Participants in the 12 Flavours of Christmas can pick up a loyalty card in any of the 12 participating venues. On purchasing a festive treat, each venue will give the loyalty card a stamp.
Once the loyalty card receives eight out of the twelve stamps it will be entered into a draw for a luxury Christmas hamper. Participating venues include: A Slice of Heaven; The Gourmet Store; Pembroke Hotel; Kilkenny Design Centre; Choc-o-latte; Kyteler’s inn; Langton’s House Hotel; Kilkenny Café; Crotty’s Coffee House; Eddie Rockets; O’Brien’s Bagel Bar and Mugshot Café. Festive food offerings on the trail include: home made mince pies; mulled wine; festive wraps; Christmas cake; Winter Berry Cocktails and Christmas pudding.
Meanwhile, the A Very Kilkenny Christmas Treasure Hunt is all about helping Santa find his reindeers in time for Christmas Eve, which have gotten lost in nine different stores in Kilkenny. They are: Crotty’s Toy Store; The Fig Tree; Grahams Shoe’s; Kilkenny Design Centre; Lamber de Bie; Lorimat Jewellers; MacEneaney’s Pharmacy; Ryan’s Jewellers and Stonehouse Books. Entry forms are available from all nine participating stors. Pick one up and start your search for a picture of each reindeer.
Mark on the list the name of the reindeer you found in each store. Entries returned to Kilkenny Design centre by December 18 will be entered into the draw to win one of three prizes from all participating stores.
