Students honoured at Ormonde College awards night in Kilkenny

An evening of glitz and glamour

Nursing studies level 5 graduates and staff during the Ormonde College for Further Education night

A capacity crowd attended the Ormonde College of Further Education annual awards ceremony on Friday night at the Lyrath Estate Hotel.

In total, 222 learners received awards in 15 different fields at QQI Level 5 and 6. It was a night of glitz and glamour as the classes of 2016/17 received their hard-earned accolades.

Dignitaries from the Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board praised the students on their achievements and commended the management and staff of the college on its excellent record. Chief Executive Cynthia Deane treated the graduates to astute and insightful advice, while Chairman Peter Cleere also gave a speech.

Winners in the Careers Portal National Skills Competition also received their awards-the college receiving five awards in the National competition including the Number One overall placing in Ireland for Animal Care student Ellen Reville.
