What is your stance on the need for a home for the elderly in Kilkenny city?

In favour. This project has been promised by Fianna Fáil-led governments over the years and it is time that it was fulfilled.

What is your stance on the Universal Social Charge?

We would like to see exemptions on the Universal Social Charge for low-income families.

With the end of funding for the Kilkenny Jobfit Centre, which was successfully getting people back into employment, what would you do to help the unemployed?

We need radical reform of the welfare-to-work scheme where there is a greater incentive to work. We need to reduce employers’ PRSI to help employers take on more people.

Apart from yourself, which other four candidates will be elected?

I would not like to be presumptuous about the decision of the people.

In 20 words or less, why should people vote for you?

The country needs a change of government. Kilkenny needs a serious figure present at the heart of the government. There will be many issues in the social economic areas to be resolved and I would like to be part of that.
