Kilkenny has received a second allocation of funding under the Government’s ‘Smarter Travel’ initiative.

Kilkenny has received a second allocation of funding under the Government’s ‘Smarter Travel’ initiative.

Following the recent allocation of e125,000 for pedestrian and cycle links from the city centre to MacDonagh Junction, another e125,000 has been allocated for similar links from the Dublin Road via Maudlin Street and John Street to the city centre.

“This funding is part of the e4 million funding for sustainable travel projects outside the greater Dublin area,” noted Environment Minister Phil Hogan.
