The Thomastown Regatta’s month-long celebration of the river ends this Sunday with a day of events for all the family on and beside the river in Thomastown.
Crews from Inistioge, Graignamanagh, Bennettsbridge and further afield will compete in The King of the River Championship Cot Race, the Thomastown Paddlers will compete in an exhibition canoe water-polo game, and Kilkenny Aquabatics will perform a range of canoe stunts.
There will be archery, medieval pavillions and medieval displays, plus a host of other activities including a puppet show by Miriam Lambert, demonstration on cot handling skills, four-man fishing crew, hip-hip and line-dancing, blacksmithing, an Inland Fishery Display and the Graig Brass band.
Entry is €5 for adults and free for children, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
To top off the day there will be a Ceili Mor in The Concert Hall in association with Sessions House Arts Centre, for which admission is €5.
