County Kilkenny schools, crèches, companies, community groups and individuals raised €5,776.97 last year by holding a breakfast in aid of Childline as part of the Cheerios Childine Breakfast Together Week.

In 2012, Cheerios and Childine are again appealing to supporters in Kilkenny to come together, have a breakfast and raise money for the Childline service.

The service currently receives no government funding and in 2011 alone received over 839,000 calls. However, due to a lack of funding, thousands of these calls went unanswered.

Childline is available to every child under 18 in Kilkenny and nationwide on 1800 66 66 66 or www.childine.ie.

Anyone who would like to register to hold a breakfast and raise money to help Childline be here for every child can call 1850-50-40-50 or visit www.childlinebreakfast.ie.
