Students from Coláiste Pobail Osraí obtained excellent results in this year’s Leaving Certificate exam and have now secured places in their chosen courses.
Liam Ó Foghlú, who received 610 points, was delighted with his result and was looking forward to studying Philosophy, Political Science, Economics and Sociology in Trinity College. While in Coláiste Pobail Osraí, Liam along with other schoolmates participated and reached all-Ireland quarter-finals in the concern debates. He hopes to continue honing his debating skills in Trinity. Another student who received her college place said she was overjoyed to be heading to UCD.
Cathnia Ó Muircheartaigh, principal of Coláiste Pobail Osraí, wished all of the students the best in college and their chosen careers. “We are delighted with the results and with their achievements,” he said. “We are sorry to see them go but we wish them success in their future career paths.”
He thanked the teachers for their hard work and wished students, parents and staff all the best as the next academic year gets under way.
