The countdown to this year’s Nore Swim is officially on, with the event having been officially launched last week.
The city’s new mayor, Seán Ó hArgáin, was on hand to give a boost to the event, which will take place on July 14.
There is still time to enter the 500-metre event that includes a women’s race, men’s race and recreational swim from Greensbridge to John’s Bridge in the city.
This year’s event is in aid of the Cois Noir day care cancer facility, the Samaritans and St Patrick’s Centre, and application forms are available from Recharge Cartridges at 9 Irishtown in Kilkenny, Collins Shoes on High Street, Gaules Butchers on Dean Street and from County Hall on John Street. Application forms and sponsorship cards can also be downloaded from www.noreswim.com.
