Kilkenny city has been fighting in recent years to clean up its act with regards to litter and the results have paid off in the latest IBAL national survey, where the city has shot up to second place in the country.
Trailing only behind Cavan, which is in first place, Kilkenny is classified as “cleaner than European norms” in the survey by Irish Business Against Litter, whose results were published on Monday.
At the start of this year, the city had dropped to 20th place, ranked as “clean to European norms.” This latest result will be encouraging as the city anticipates the upcoming Tidy Towns awards for the year, the results of which will be announced next Monday.
