It was smiles all round at St Brigid’s in Callan with students doing exceptionally well and one student scooping eight As.
Verginya Hristova from Callan scored an impressive seven A1s and an A2 in higher level subjects easily securing her a place in her chosen course of pharmacy.
Principal Pat Power described it as ‘an awesome result’. “It reflects really well on Verginya’s ability and application to her work and the work of the teachers at St Brigid’s,” he said.
Another exceptional student who scored seven A1s was Bronagh Kearns who studied at Abbey Community College.
In the city, Cormac Everard, who studied at St Kieran’s College and hopes to do medicine, scored 625 points while Coláiste Pobail Osraí pPrincipal Cathnia Ó Muircheartaigh expressed his pride in all students for the results they have achieved. “Their own hard work and dedication coupled with the support of their teachers and families has to be acknowledged.
“While it is not all about points we have to give a special mention to Rachel Ní Bhriain, Cáit Ní Mhaolmhuaidh and Kiere Ní Mhurchú who all broke the magical 600 points with Rachel Ní Bhriain receiving the maximum seven A1s,” he said and wished all his students the best of luck in their futures.
