Have fun over the weekend? Perhaps you partied in fancy dress at Left Bank on Sunday night or Disconnected in freak or geek mode at Billy Byrne’s on Monday?
As ghouls and ghosties took over city streets and country venues, many costumes are being kept for more trick or treating fun in the coming days and nights. From 6pm on Hallow’s Eve, Thursday, there’s a Halloween special at Matt the Miller’s with Wallop the Cat while the Mill family resource centre in Urlingford has a haunted house for younger folk at the same time.
Kilkenny Musical Society has its fancy dress Monster Mash Halloween Table Quiz in Langton’s the same evening from 8pm. Promising to be a spooktacular night, there are prizes for the winning quiz teams as well as a prize for best dressed and, who knows, there may even be a toffee apple in it for you as well! Teams of four cost €20 per team.
Over at Biddy Early’s a Halloween Fancy Dress Party & Krazy Karaoke kicks off around the same time.
Then a little later, at 10pm, it’s back to Matt the Miller’s for its Halloween party night with entertainment by Pete Fagan, Davey Cashin, The 3 Hench Men and DJ Spooky Hughes & late bar taking you to the witching hour.
Biddy Early’s leads the Nightmare on John Street with DJ Tossy O’ Toole on Friday night while across the city Kyteler’s Inn hosts a Halloween fancy dress in aid of Larc Community Childcare. Entry costs €8 and that’ll get you craic & ceoil with live entertainment by the O’Dwyer Brothers and friends. There’s also a DJ, finger food and a late bar with raffle and prize for the best costume.
And it’s Spooky Saturday at Biddy Early’s the following night with Mixmaster Ob1 entertaining the masses.
Meanwhile, Left Bank’s customer Halloween competition continues until Friday. You have until then to get as many votes or like on your favourite photo on their Facebook page. Winning shot gets €500.
