The Kilkenny man who was stabbed to death in Tramore last night has been named as 25-year-old Michael O’ Dwyer.
Originally from Kilkenny City, he had been living in Stoneyford for the past two years. He was brought by ambulance to Waterford Regional Hospital before midnight last night, but died from his injuries arond 1am this morning.
Investigating Gardai are appealing for witnesses and in particular anyone who may have seen, heard or witnessed any suspicious or unusual activity in the Seafield Holiday Home Complex between 10 pm and 12 midnight on January 9 to contact them
A 32-year-old man was later arrested in connection with Mr O’ Dwyer’s death. He is also from Kilkenny City.
It’s understood he is known to Gardai, and had recently changed his name by deed poll. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice act 1984, at Tramore Garda Station.
