Special edition from 1600-1750

IN a special heritage week edition the Kilkenny People has returned to the 1600s to chart the city’s rise to the capital of Ireland before Cromwell’s arrival and the change in the city’s fortunes up to the year 1750.

IN a special heritage week edition the Kilkenny People has returned to the 1600s to chart the city’s rise to the capital of Ireland before Cromwell’s arrival and the change in the city’s fortunes up to the year 1750.

The Kilkenny People has attempted to recreate the look and feel of a newspaper of the time. With the help of the Heritage Council we attempted to produce a historically accurate report of the main events of the period.
