Cases adjourned for book of evidence
TWO men charged with aggravated burglary had their case adjourned at the last sitting of Kilkenny District Court.
Cathel Hickey, 8 Cedarwood Drive, Loughboy and Daniel O’Grady, 73 Hebron Park are charged with aggravated burglary at Wellington Square on December 17, 2008. Judge David Anderson adjourned the both cases for the service of books of evidence to June 14.
Three-year ban for drink driving
A MOTORIST who admitted to getting behind the wheel while over the legal limit was fined 250 euro and banned from driving for three years at the last sitting of the local court.
Agnieszka Flas, The Orchard, Kilkenny was convicted of the offence at The Orchard, Kilkenny on December 24, 2009.
Publican fined for after hours
A PUBLICAN who allowed alcohol to be served after hours was fined at the last sitting of the local court.
John Murphy, Parkmore House, Castleinch was convicted of the offence at The Orchard House, Old Golf Links Road on July 18. The court heard that gardai arrived on the scene at 2.05am and that there were a number of people outside and approximately 40 people inside the premises.
Solcitor Michael Lanigan told the court that a birthday party had taken place and it had ‘went on and on’. Judge David Anderson convicted the publican and fined him 400 euro.
Intoxicated in a public place
A YOUNG man who admitted to being intoxicated in a public place was fined at the last sitting of Kilkenny District Court.
Gary Parsons, 31 O’Loughlin Court was fined 125 euros for the offence at Johns Bridge on August 20.
Fined for no tax
A DRIVER who failed to tax his car was fined at Kilkenny District Court.
Trevor Williams, The Eight Poles, Lower Grange, Gowran was fined 250 euro for the offence at Ballybough Street on February 8.
Disqualified from driving
A DRIVER who was caught without a valid licence on two separate occasions over a four-week period was banned from driving for a year at the last sitting of the local court.
Danny Kavanagh, Grennan, Thomastown was also fined 400 euro for the offences which took place at Maudlin Street on June 30 and at Grennan, Thomastown on July 6.
No licence lands man in court
A FINE was imposed on a driver who got behind the wheel without a valid licence at the last sitting of Kilkenny District Court.
David Corcoran, 69 Beechlawns, Johnswell Road was fined 200 euros for the offence at Kilree, Bennettsbridge on July 31.
