South East Simon is delighted to announce the date of their annual Parachute Jump as the 25th June 2011. This year the jump will take place in Kilkenny Airfield, and we are looking forward to a bigger number than ever before. The annual parachute jump has traditionally been the most exciting and significant fundraising event for the South East Simon community enabling us to deliver services all over the South East to homeless people and at risk of homelessness.
We are witnessing an ever increasing call on our services, many of our callers are home owners concerned about the rising costs of running a home and meeting mortgage repayments while their income levels are dropping. Through our supported advocacy service we link worried homeowners in with budgeting and advisory agencies, and if required legal agencies and we will liaise directly with those agencies on their behalf if asked to. Through our Food Distribution services we offer assistance to those having difficulty buying groceries when their disposable income is diverted towards rent or home loan repayments.
Providing these services costs money, and we do what we can to minimise costs in our organisation, but without successful fundraising events, we would be unable to continue. Thanks to the generosity of the people of the South East, we are now in our 7th year and are confident that we can survive these difficult times when our services is more in demand than ever before.
If you have the nerve for it, please “Take one giant leap for Simon” and join us on the 25th June for a day to remember, if you don’t feel the jump is for you personally, please mention it to your friends and family and sponsor those who sign up. Remember “We need your support to support others”.
