KICKING OFF 2012 from where they left off, The Ambience Affair announced an Irish tour following the October 2011 release of their debut album Burial last month.
The Dublin-based band will play Billy Byrnes Bar on March 24. Now a three-piece with the addition of Yvonne Ryan on bass, keys and vocals, The Ambience Affair are renowned for front man Jamie Clarke’s impassioned vocal delivery and layered looped guitars, kept in check by the pounding rhythm section of drummer Marc Gallagher.
Released to broad critical acclaim Burials is the group’s first full length album and their first release on Bluestack Records. The Ambience Affair were invited to join Lisa Hannigan on her sold-out tour of Ireland throughout December where they played to packed venues including Dublin’s Vicar Street, The Savoy in Cork and Mandela Hall in Belfast. In December, the band also featured on Other Voices 10 which will be screened on RTE in early March ‘12.
The Ambience Affair with support from In The Willows (Waterford / Galway) play Billy Byrnes Bar, John Street, Kilkenny Saturday 24 March with support from In The Willows. Doors: 8.30pm. Admission: €5.
