In an effort to raise money for their school, the 118 pupils of Church Hill National School in Cuffesgrange have organised a fun run that will take place on June 10 at the school.
As well as 5km and 10km races, there promises to be family fun with bouncy castles, entertainment, catering, great prizes and commentary from George Candler. Registration is from 11am to noon, and the race commences at 12.20pm. Fees are €15 for adults, €10 for students and €25 for families.
“The aim of the event is to try and raise money for the school and more importantly the pupils as it is sadly necessary to organise such events to raise funds for schools in these economic times,” according to the school’s parents committee.
Those who participate can run, walk or cycle so it promises to be a great day out for everyone.
Training for the event is currently taking place at Danesfort GAA track, where anyone from novices to experienced runners can attend. Training is €2 per session and is on Mondays and Thursdays at 09.45am and Tuesdays and Fridays at 6.30pm.
