64% Yes vote in Kilkenny so far

Kilkenny appears to be on course to voting Yes in the fiscal treaty referendum.

Kilkenny appears to be on course to voting Yes in the fiscal treaty referendum.

Tally numbers for Kilkenny show a vote of 64% Yes and 36% No. The gap in Carlow’s vote is smaller, with tallies showing votes at 55% Yes and 45% No.

With the official count having started at 12.30pm, some 50% of the boxes have been opened at the count centre in the Lyrath Estate Hotel.

High numbers of Yes votes have been recorded in Hugginstown and Mullinavat, with Yes standing at 63% in Tullaroan, 60% in Freshford, 60% in Ballyragget and 53% in Crosspatrick.

Ferrybank, however, is looking likely to favour the No side.
