THE CHURCH and home of the parish priest in Glenmore were burgled in a ‘ruthless’ attack.
Cllr Fidellis Doherty condemned the crime saying that it was the second time it had happened recently.
“The priest’s home was broken into before Christmas as well. It is important to highlight that this is happening. It is a huge invasion of people’s privacy. Your home is your castle and you shouldn’t have to feel like a prisoner,” she said.
The burglaries took place between 6.30 and 7.30pm on Thursday and a number of items were taken. The sacristy was also ransacked. There was no one present at the time and gardai are investigating the break ins. Anyone with information is asked to contact Mooncoin Garda Station on 051 895 122.
