A CHILDCARE worker from Moneenroe is fundraising for an orphanage in Moldova and plans to travel there in April to help out with the charity Outreach Moldova.
29-year-old Fiona Rice is travelling to Moldova from a week at Easter. Her colleagues are getting behind her and supporting her by organising a Jersey week from March 19-23.
“I always wanted to go and work in an orphanage. I went last summer and worked in two orphanges: one for severely handicapped children and a baby orphanage. We did a lot of sensory activities with the children. After spending time there I decided to go back when I got a chance,” she said. A recent church gate collection held at Clogh/Mooneenroe raise €741.
“I am really looking forward to going back out. I can’t wait to meet the children that I spent time working with out there last summer,” she added. To sponsor Fiona visit her fundraising page at http://www.mycharity.ie/event/fiona_rices_event/
