Renowned writers recite at the library

Kilkenny Library Service in association with The Irish Writers’ Centre is pleased to present a reading with Irish writers Paul Murray and Val Mulkerns at City Library on John’s Quay on Wednesday (October 17) at 7.30pm.

Paul Murray’s first novel, An Evening of Long Goodbyes was shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize in 2003 and nominated for the Kerry Irish Fiction Award. His other novel, Skippy Dies received rave reviews on publication in 2010 and was long listed for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction.Val Mulkerns is a novelist, short story writer and freelance journalist. The Summerhouse and Very like a whale are 2 of her novels. At present she is working on a memoir, Friends with the Enemy. The Peregrine Readings are a touring prose series. They are part of the Touring and Dissemination Scheme funded by the Arts Council. The event is free of charge and all are welcome.
