Just one-third of local people have paid the €100 household charge.
Some 35% of people have made the payment in Kilkenny, Environment Minister Phil Hogan’s home constituency, according to national reports.
Likewise, 60% of people in Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s home constituency of Mayo have not paid the tax.
The highest rate of payment so far is in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown.
The figures, which are featured in today’s Daily Mail, do not include the 235,000 applications yet to be processed, however.
