Several cases of illegal dumping are to be brought before the courts in the new year, according to Kilkenny County Council.

Several cases of illegal dumping are to be brought before the courts in the new year, according to Kilkenny County Council.

The council is using 13 covert CCTV cameras around the county to combat the widespread problem, director of services Philip O’Neill told the council’s December meeting.

“There has been a significant increase in the number of people we have caught over the last couple of months and there will be a number of court cases next year,” he said.
