Kilkenny County Council is due to review the amount it charges as a levy for new developments, including one-off houses.
“I would like to have a serious look at lowering the charges,” Cllr Pat Dunphy (FG) said at the council’s monthly meeting in a discussion about the creation of a new development plan for the county.
“Can you look at that as far as the development plan is concerned?” he asked the council management.
County manager Joe Crockett replied that the council’s corporate policy group and the party whips have agreed that “we should bring forward a scheme to review the development charges.”
